The Freaky Diki Kitchen Sinky (FDKS) series continues with ’She J’. I remember meeting a beautiful DJ back in the late 90s and she only played vinyl, and only the break beats from what seemed like a case of about 35 records. She was fabulous and I remember from then I wanted to capture the sexiness of the female DJ but never got around to it until now.
This painting is not of that girl from way back but of a DJ from Queens now living in Miami who I think captures not only the sexiness of moving a crowd but the New Yorkness I miss still, so I say to DJ Candace Storch thank you for the inspiration of this painting.
My painting technique is still developing, nothing really make any sense but is still completely sensible at the same time. I am literally trying to weave the background into the foregrounds and vice versa without losing the familiarity of the subject. Seriously, I really mean that.
